About Me

After graduating in 2004 from the French design school Creapole ESDI with a master’s degree, I worked for two years at Axena Design, a product development company near Paris, France.

Most of the projects there were style driven consumer electronics and some industrial equipment. I modeled in Rhino and rendered in Carrara.

In 2006, I joined Bressler Group, a product development firm based in Philadelphia, PA with 40+ years of experience in medical, professional and consumer products and a long list of major design awards and patents.

Designers at Bressler Group work in Solidworks and used to render in Photoworks. They switched to Bunkspeed HyperMove and Shot in 2010, which was a great improvement in quality and workflow.

I relocated to NYC this year and recently joined the p9 team in Edgewater, NJ, working on a wide variety of consumer goods. There, I still model in Solidworks and will render in Bunkspeed Move.

Q&A

How long have you been using Bunkspeed products?

I have been using Bunkspeed since 2010.

What did you use before Bunkspeed?

I have been using rendering software for 10 years and worked with a wide variety of packages : Alias Studio Tools, 3DS Max, Carrara, Photoworks, Photoview 360 and Hypershot.

What do you most enjoy about your Bunkspeed product?

Bunkspeed is fairly easy and gives great results with very little setup. Of course, the fine tuning always require some time but the high quality of the presets and the fast rendering engine makes it that much more painless. The way the decals work couldn’t be simpler which allows to quickly implement all the graphics and other details that make the renders more realistic. I also started to use animation with HyperMove and was able to get great results in a very little time, while having so much fun!!! So far I preferred using HyperMove but can't wait to give MOVE a spin!

How do you light your images?

Most of the time, I only use the environment. To me, having to deal with extra lights or emissive objects defeats the purpose of using a quick setup software such as Bunkspeed and reminds me of the painful hours spent setting lights in other software. I rather spend time refining my lighting by rotating the environment and playing with gamma and brightness. Plus Bunkspeed environments give a very nice lighting right away.
