Carter Hickman
Carter has been passionate about two things his whole life… art and hot rods. It was really just a matter of time before the two merged to create the success he has enjoyed in recent years. His art classes through college were filled with concept cars and he even spent some time at Art Center in Pasadena, CA. Currently, he is a graphic designer by trade. He works as the Art Director for the ABC t.v. affiliate in St. Louis, MO. But his real passion is cars. He successfully created the NSRA award-winning Digital Paintbooth software for House Of Kolor. This patented software won the NSRA New Product of the Year award in 2004. In addition to creating award winning software, Carter creates 3-d renderings for clients in need of making their vision come to life.

How long have you used Shot before you made these images?
I’ve been using Shot for about 1 year now. I wanted to produce realistic renderings for clients.  The pricing and results drew me to the software.  Within a week’s time I was making images in a 1/4 of the time that it was taking me in other packages. 

What did you use before Shot?
I used Lightwave and Modo
 
What do you like most about Shot?
I love the pure speed of it.  The speed of Shot allows me to experiment with color combination and textures.  It has realistic results.  In our design business people are trying to make a decision about the paint or design elements for their vehicle.  This software allows me to quickly show them multiple views. 
 
Did you use one of our stock hdri or did you make your own?
I use both.  I love using stock hdri’s because of the realism that you can achieve with them in a short amount of time.
